ArOmis has a unique supplier for our Taiwan Cypress oil. Our Cypress is uniquely strong and woody characteristic of the top shelf Cypress revered by the Japanese and Chinese emperors and other nobility. The wood of these trees is difficult to come by as they are a protected species in Taiwan. Only government sanctioned cutting is allowed in Taiwan and collection is most common only after trees have fallen naturally after major typhoons or landslides. Often these trees fall into rivers and wash into river deltas and end up on beaches where they are collected for different uses. The oil content of the tree can be as much as 60% of the total wood by weight so a small amount of wood can produce a lot of oil.
We have a mission of sustainability that is fully expressed in our small agroforestry farmer produced essential oils. In the spirit of fair trade and environmental stewardship, using African oils grown in tropical and sub tropical areas encourages local farmers to use less land more wisely and to preserve the indigenous forests by growing high value crops in harmony with the surrounding forests replacing Maize and other fertilizer and slash and burn agricultural crops.
